ICN NP/APN Network Excellence Awards 2021

The inaugural ICN NP/APN Network Excellence Awards 2021 will recognize outstanding advanced practice nurse (APN) achievements and honour outstanding APNs in Education, Research, Leadership and Clinical Practice.

Any current ICN/APN Network member* can submit a nomination for consideration. 
Nominees should be network members, must have a master’s degree and meet the ICN/ APNN definition of an advanced practice nurse.
The ICN (2020, p6) defines an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) as “a generalist or specialised nurse who has acquired, through additional graduate education (minimum of a master’s degree), the expert knowledge base, complex decision-making skills and clinical competencies for Advanced Nursing Practice, the characteristics of which are shaped by the context in which they are credentialed to practice. The two most commonly identified APN roles are CNS and NP.”

Nomination Deadline
March 31, 2021 – 11:59 PM (Pacific) – extended to April 30, 2021

Notifications
Award recipients will be notified in May 2021.  The award ceremony will take place virtually during the conferences dates. Recipients should plan to attend.

Adjudication

Selection of award recipients will be adjudicated by an awards committee consisting of members of the ICN NP/APN Network Core Steering Group (CSG), Sub-Group chairs, and the conference Executive Organizing Committee (EOC). Members of the EOC are not eligible for award nominations. 

Award
Recipients will receive $500 CAD, an awards plaque and certificate. 

*Membership of the ICN NP/APN Network is free to all NPs/APNs. To become a member please complete the application form.
